Michael W. Milone graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with high honors and has bachelor degrees in philosophy and psychology. He attended the University of Nebraska College of Law, graduating in May of 2015 with honors and was admitted to the Nebraska State and Federal courts in 2015 and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and Iowa State courts in 2016.
Michael’s primary practice areas are complex commercial litigation and appeals; civil litigation and appeals; banking and credit union law; creditor’s rights; collection; repossession; foreclosure; UCC issues; loan servicing; bankruptcy; fair credit reporting; fair debt collection practices; interpleader actions; fraud and fiduciary duty claims; indemnity, bond, and surety claims; lender liability; local counsel for national businesses, lenders, and law firms. His secondary practice areas are domestic relations and family law; protection orders; adoptions; conservatorship, guardianship, estate, and probate litigation and appeals; administrative litigation and appeals.
Michael serves the following industries: banking and finance; secured and unsecured lending; residential and commercial real estate, construction, and development; debt collectors, collection agencies, and data furnishers; manufacturing; medical, chiropractic, and dental practices; small and local for-profit businesses.
Michael is heavily involved in the community. He supports the Volunteer Lawyers Project through the Douglas County Nebraska Help Desk by taking on pro bono assignments. He is also a member of the Robert M. Spire American Inn of Court and is a mock trial coach for Mercy High School. He’s also a member of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys, the Omaha Bar Association, and the Nebraska State Bar Association – Secretary of Banking section.
Published works of Michael’s include articles in The Nebraska Lawyer Magazine, a Nebraska State Bar Association Family Law Practice Manual, and National Business Institute Seminar materials.
In his free time, Michael enjoys board and card games as well as cooking, baking, and travel.
